TCF CANADA is intended for anyone 16 years of age or over, regardless of their nationality or native tongue, needing to certify their level of French as part of the procedures for economic immigration to Canada or for obtaining Canadian citizenship. Therefore, the applicant must file a case with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
TCF CANADA is an accredited test from IRCC and will also be recognised by the Ministry of Inclusion, Francization and Immigration (MIFI) for an immigration application in the province of Québec from 1 May 2022.
The TCF Canada test assesses a candidate’s level of language ability using the European framework known as the CEFR levels. It is made up of 4 mandatory tests that assess general French language skills:
