The Institut français du Royaume-Uni carries out a mission of cultural cooperation in favour of visual arts and design. It supports emerging talent and connects French artists with the British art scene.

Bilateral Programmes


Fluxus Art Projects

Fluxus Art Projects encourages artistic cooperation between France and the UK, supporting venues offering exhibitions of artists from the French scene in the UK and vice versa and supporting curators on curatorial research trips to France and the UK. It has also built a network of artist residencies within the framework of the new Magnetic programme.

Magnetic Residencies

Magnetic is a Franco-British joint initiative that brings together 8 venues to create a programme of two-month artists’ residencies in France for British artists and in the UK for French artists. Magnetic is gradually building a network of partner institutions with shared commitments and values.

A series of discussions revolving around art, societal and environmental issues with artists, curators, or thinkers, based in France or the UK.

Design in an Expanded Field

A series of conversations between French and British designers, Design historians and curators, associated to key art and design institutions in France.

Look-out

A series of conversations between French and British experts in the same field discussing their artistic vision and practice.
